Images as Folder Icons!!! Fotowall!! Impro-Visor!! YEEEEowZaAa!!!!!

Get rid of panel shadow!

Impro-Visor (short for “Improvisation Advisor”) is a music notation program designed to help jazz musicians compose and hear solos similar to ones that might be improvised. The objective is to improve understanding of solo construction and tune chord changes. There are other, secondary, things it can do, such as improvise on its own. It has also been used for transcription. Because rhythm-section (e.g. piano, bass, drums) accompaniment is automatically generated from chords, Impro-Visor can be used as a play-along device. Now having a wider array of accompaniment styles, its use is not limited to jazz.

Tintii!!!

Tintii
From the site:
Tintii takes full colour photos and processes them into black and white with some select regions highlighted in colour. The technique is known as colour popping or selective colouring – tintii makes it easy.

Very, very simple program that creates stunning black and white effects on color photos.

From this, . .

To this, . .

From Wikipedia:
Film tinting is the process of adding color to black and white film, usually by means of soaking the film in dye and staining the film emulsion. The effect is that all of the light shining through is filtered, so that what would be white light is, in fact, another color.

Cactus Jukebox!!! FXFloorboard!! Transmageddon!!! Breakage!!!!!!!!!!

Breakage is an intelligent drum machine designed to make it easy and fun to play complex, live breakbeat performances. A step-sequencer pattern editor and previewer, database, sample browser, neural network, pattern morphs, statistics and probabilistic pattern generator give you the tools to work with breaks on a higher level than ever before.

Transmageddon - No BS Video converter!

FxFloorBoard is Midi Editor software for the Boss GT-6B & Gt-10B Bass Effects Processor and Boss GT-3,6,8, Pro & GT-10 Guitar Effects.

Cactus Jukebox is an audio player and music organizing tool. It searches given folders for music files and shows them in a database.
The main focus is on usability and speed. Cactus Jukebox still runs smoothly with 15GB of music files on an old computer like a P3 @ 500MHz. There's no reason to take a dual core machine just to listen to your music.
Another nice feature: You can also syncronize your music collection with a mobile player device(USB).

0 A.D. - History is yours for the taking!

From the official F.A.Q's
* What is 0 A.D.?
0 A.D. ("Zero ey dee") is a historical Real Time Strategy game currently under development by Wildfire Games. As the military leader of an ancient civilisation, you must gather the resources you need to raise a military force capable of dominating your enemies.

This game is currently in Beta. Don't let that stop you from checking out this impressive effort!! If you're keen enough to find and load this then you are keen enough to appreciate the great amount of detail this game has / will offer!!! The options for Scenario Editor, Campaigns, and Options are dead. The first option you will want to use when this amazing game is available is "Fullscreen", Here's why, . .

A Roman buttkickin' about to happen! These stills are nothin', tough, compared to seeing this thing in motion. Everything is alive in this game, the grass, trees, people, chickens, elephants, etc, . .

The options at this stage are straight and to the point! No surprises here, even a truck stop employee could set up a round and start playing.

You are able to rotate and zoom to ground level. The graphics on said game are stunning, especially the landscapes! I look forward to my first major battle. These two dudes will have to kick some ass on their own for now.

Here are two Romans on horseback violently slaughtering a deer for no apparent reason.

This game is so awesome that you are treated to Roman trivia while the level loads.

All and all a great game, but what's with the Butterfaces walking around my temple?? Please fix the chicks, . . this is a video game. K, thanks!

Keep an eye out on this one!!! http://wildfiregames.com/0ad/

Phasex! LinuxSampler! Pizza Game!!!

Pizza Game is just that. It appears to be based around a robot that manages a pizza store. It looks lik the project has been abandoned though. : (

Linuxsampler is a free, streaming capable open source pure software audio sampler with professional grade features, comparable to both hardware and commercial Windows/Mac software samplers and to introduce new features not yet available by any other sampler in the world.

Phasex is an experimental software synthesizer for use with Linux/ALSA/JACK. The name comes partially from its experimental method of using phase offset modulation, where each oscillator can have its phase offset between right and left channels modulated by an LFO or another oscillator.

Create a Text File of Installed Apps

To store a list of every application that is currently installed to a file called apps.txt load up a blank terminal and run the following command:

dpkg --get-selections > apps.txt

This will store a list of every application that is currently installed to a file called apps.txt. If you are wanting to re-install your OS, then make sure that you save this file to a USB stick!

Once you are ready to install all your applications again:

dpkg --set-selections < apps.txt
dselect update
apt-get dselect-upgrade show

Now after a lot of downloading and installing, you will once have all of your applications installed again. It may be an idea before you re-install your OS to back up the /etc/apt/sources.list file, so that you are able to download the applications that you may of got else where.

If you have any questions about this methord, then please leave a comment!
